HCI celebrates Hindi Diwas in Ottawa

1.    The High Commission of India, Ottawa and the Mukul Hindi School celebrated the Hindi Diwas and Republic Day at the school's premises on 23 January 2016. The ceremony was attended by almost all the students and their parents, as also scores of individuals who have been associated with Mukul Hindi School in the past as teachers, administrators or board members. Mr. Vishwa Nath Goel, Second Secretary, at the High Commission presided over the function. A number of other officials of the High Commission were also present.

2.    Students of the School gave a number of fine performances in Hindi in the competition section. Five winners of the competition were awarded plaques. Next, commemorative plaques were presented to previous and current teachers, as well as administrative members of Mukul Hindi School.

3.    Mr. Goel thanked all the teachers for their dedication and exemplary contribution towards propagating Hindi. He encouraged the students to make good use of the unique opportunity of learning Hindi outside India. Mr. Goel also read out Prime Minister's address on occasion of World Hindi Day. Small gifts were given to all the student participants. The function concluded with a simple reception.
