Other Consular Services

Attestation of Documents 

We undertake attestation of documents such as Affidavits, Power of Attorney, Wills, etc. For attestation, we will require the document in original and one photograph of the person executing/signing the document which will be pasted on the document itself. The person should carry his Indian or Canadian passport with him to prove his identity. 

Certificate indicating educational qualification CANNOT be attested by us. Similarly, the certificates such as Marriage Certificate, Date of Birth Cetificate, Death Certificate issue by various authotiries in India CANNOT be attested by us. 

The person executing/signing the document has to invariably sign the document in the presence of an officer of the High Commission of India.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) 

This service has been outsourced. You need to contact one of the offices of our outsourcing agents, VFS Global. Their office addresses, timings, phone numbers and e-mail address can be found by clicking here. You will need following documents:  

* Application form (EAP-2)duly filled in.

* One recent colour passport size photograph (3.5 cm X 3.5 cm).

* Copy of the Indian/Foreign passport (only pages containing your particulars and photograph) with valid landing record/immigration paper/PR card.

The processing time is about 15 business days. The fee charged is C$ 20. In addition, you will be required to pay processing fee to VFS Global. Please consult them about the total cost and the exact procedure for remitting the fee.

Certificate of Date of Birth 

This service has been outsourced. You need to contact one of the offices of our outsourcing agents, VFS Global. Their office addresses, timings, phone numbers and e-mail address can be found by clicking here. We issue a “Certificate of Date of Birth” on the basis of entries in Indian Passport (not on the basis of passport of some other country).  Please note that it is not a “Birth Certificate” but a Certificate of the Date of Birth. Applicants are advised to check the acceptability of this Certificate with the Canadian authorities before obtaining this certificate. Following documents are required: 


* Application form (EAP-2) duly filled in.

* One recent colour passport size photograph (3.5 cm X 3.5 cm).

* Indian passport with Landing/immigration paper/PR Card.

Registration of Child’s name (Born in Canada) 

Following documents are required:

* Application form (EAP-2) duly filled in and signed by both parents.

* Birth certificate of the child showing parents names.

* Parents' Indian passport.

* Two recent colour passport size photographs of the child (3.5 cm X 3.5 cm).

* Landing record/ immigration paper/PR Card of parents.

* Declaration that the Canadian passport has not been issued to the child.


Life Certificate to Pensioners 

This service has NOT been outsourced to VFS Global. The Pensioner need to come personally to the High Commission with following documents: 

* Valid passport with landing record (for Indian citizens). Passports/Citizenship Card for Canadian nationals. (A photocopy of all these documents is required to be attached with the form.)

* Original Pension Book/Pay Order in case of civilian pensioners and Discharge Certificate in case of ex-servicemen.

The service is provided free of charge. The Pensioner has to invariably present himself before the officer of the High Commission.

Authentication of the Indian Driving Licence

Authentication of Driving Licences by the High Commission of India has been discontinued. Applicants are advised to obtain written authentication of their Indian driving experience directly from the Driving Licensing Authority in India and submit it to the driving licence authority in Canada. Certificate for Transportation of Ashes or Dead Body to India

This service has NOT been outsourced to VFS Global. To facilitate transportation of dead body or ashes of a deceased Indian or person of Indian origin, we provide the requisite certificate. To issue the certificate, we will need following documents: 

* Death Certificate in original from Canadian authorities.

* Coroner’s Report and/or Autopsy Report of the hospital in case of un-natural death such as cases of suicide/murder/accident.

* Funeral Home Certificate in original.

* Indian and/or Canadian Passport in original of the deceased.

* In case it is desired to transport the dead body to India instead of the ashes, original report of the person who embalmed the body and a certificate from the Manager, Funeral Home that the casket was sealed by him and it contained the embalmed body of the person identified by him.

* Photograph of the dead body in case the body is to be transported to India.

* Details of the Airlines Company and flights by which dead body or ashes are to be transported. Name and address of the person accompanying the ashes or dead body is also needed. These details are incorporated by us in the certificate issued by the High Commission to facilitate transportation.

* Fee of C$ 48 (to be paid in Cash or by Bank Draft).

The High Commission will return all original documents to the applicant after inspecting them. In case the deceased held an Indian Passport, it will be cancelled and returned to the family members of the deceased.
