Visa in an Emergency situation
A Visa may be granted to those who need to travel to India in an emergency situation.
This service is usually rendered on a working day. {In cases arising out of extreme humanitarian, medical or death situations, the Visa Officer may, at his discretion, grant visa on a closed holiday - Saturday, Sunday or Gazetted holiday - also. In such cases, you will be required to produce a confirmed and paid-for air ticket showing the emergent nature of your travel and hence the necessity of visa. You may also be required to give some proof of the emergency situation. You must take a prior appointment by giving a call to 613-744-3751, 613-744-3752 or 613-744-3753. Explain the emergency situation and have a date and time fixed. It will ensure that the visa counter is specially opened to attend to you on a holiday. A list of closed holidays can be found by clicking here.}
