Tourist Visa Tourist visa is granted to a short time visitor who intends to visit India for genuine tourism purposes. Therefore, the duration of Tourist Visa would usually not exceed 6 months. |

A Tourist Visa holder, even if he holds a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, is not allowed to take second entry in India unless a period of 60 days has elapsed from the date of his last departure from India. Persons of Indian origin can be granted Tourist visa also (instead of Entry Visa), if they so wish. However, it may please be understood that Tourist Visa is non-convertible and non-extendable; and that there is a stipulation of a gap of at least 2 months between two visits to India on a Tourist visa as indicated in the paragraph above. Processing Time It usually requires 7 business days to grant Tourist Visa, excluding the time taken in postal transmission. You will be required to pay processing fee to VFS Global separately. Please consult them about the total cost and the exact procedure for remitting the fee. Applicants having Non-Canadian Passports If you have a non-Canadian Passport, the fee and the processing time can be significantly different.
